Bridget Ross – Captain

Bridget Ross Captain, Kalupa Kai Hawaii

Aloha!

This is your captain of the beautiful vessel Kalupa Kai and future venture.

My name is Bridget Ross. I was born a California girl but transplanted to Texas when I was 4 years old. I graduated Plano West Senior High school and moved back to California where the ocean was calling me. I went to and graduated from Orange Coast College and received my degree in Marine Mammalogy /Wildlife Research and Human Communications.

Since I was 8 months old I was in the water, (my mom, dad, aunt, uncle, grandma and grampa all had boats growing up) and as of 6 years old I was riding horses out in Commerce Texas which led me to training and breaking horses and showing western pleasure. Both the sea and horses have struck my nerve and I have been chasing that ever since.

I am 36 years old and moved from Newport Beach California (Balboa Peninsula) to the Big Island of Hawai’i 3 years ago and fell in love with the people, aina and culture. Living in Hawai’i gives the best of both worlds. My goal for every person aboard is to make their experience memorable for the rest of their lives as well as striving to accommodate their every want and need. I am an adventurer, my soul is pure and my energy is endless giving. This island especially has touched me in a way only few can explain being a transplant. I am very blessed to have been hānai into this culture and lifestyle from our root families on this ‘āina.

The importance to share and keep awareness as well as keep this island close as possible to her origin is in my heart, being, and soul. It is very important to me as I have the utmost respect for her. Today I live my two passions, one being on board Kalupa Kai and the other living with my two chickens Beau and Glamour and my puppy named Kalo, embracing every moment I am blessed here.
